Why is it a good idea for my child to have their own yoga mat?

Children have different needs than adults – and that's exactly why our mats were specially developed for children:

  • Free of harmful substances: For little hands & feet
  • Washable: Machine washable at 30 degrees
  • Lightweight & foldable: Ideal for self-carrying, fits in a gym bag or suitcase
  • Sustainable: Made from natural rubber and microfiber velour

What makes the YOGITIER® yoga mat special?

Our mats are designed with lots of love, especially for children .

Free of harmful substances - therefore particularly suitable for little explorers who spend a lot of time barefoot or playing on it.

Practical for everyday use: You can easily wash the mats in the washing machine at 30 degrees.

Our mats are foldable , so they easily fit into a gym bag or suitcase.

Made from sustainable natural rubber and soft microfiber velour , they offer not only high quality but also a comfortable, stable grip.

Our mats are true all-rounders and can be used not only as yoga mats, but also as children's room carpets, play mats or picnic blankets .

And for all parents who want to practice together with their children, there are of course also suitable mini-me yoga mats – for double the joy and shared yoga moments.

Aren't the mats too thin?

No.

The thickness of our mats provides sufficient cushioning for children.

Our mats are made of high-quality natural rubber, which, although heavier than other materials, remains stable. A thicker mat would quickly become too heavy, unwieldy, and impossible to fold for children.

The 2 mm make up the mat:

  • Light enough to carry yourself
  • Compact and portable (fits in a bag, backpack or suitcase)
  • Washable in the washing machine
  • Ensures a stable hold

The mat is stable and comfortable even for adults. It stays flat on the floor and doesn't slip.

Many standard mats for adults are 3–5 mm thick, which is helpful for people with joint problems, for example.

However, for children, it's not the padding that's crucial, but a stable stance and balance. That's why we deliberately chose the 2 mm thickness.

Are the mats non-slip?

Yes, the surface is designed to allow children to stand stably, prevent slipping, and enable safe movements.

Why is it beneficial to start children's yoga at an early age?

What materials are used?

Our yoga mats are made of pollutant-free natural rubber and have a soft microfiber velour surface.

Are there different sizes?

Yes, we have two sizes:

  • Children (up to about teenage age): 155 x 60 cm, 2 mm thick
  • Adults: 180 x 60 cm, 2 mm thick

What is the elastic band on the mat for?

The elastic band – the “tail” of the YOGITIER – holds the mat together when it is folded.

What exactly is children's yoga?
